Topic: Lesser Soft-Brome

The common name Lesser Soft-{b}Brome is given to both Bromus hordeaceus and it's hybrid Bromus hordeaceus x lepidus = B. x pseudothominei.

Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this as when entering data, but Recorder is only giving me the hybrid when searching for Lesser Soft-brome

1) Should the hybrid have this common name?

2) Should the species have this common name or should it be just Soft-brome?

3) Why (when both the species and hybrid have the same common name) am I only being given the hybrid? Is it because it's ill-formed (capital 'B' in brome)? http://nbn-sd-dev.nhm.ac.uk/taxon.php?l … 0000004689

Thanks!!
