I have checked Polecat-Ferret, Mustela furo x putorius, and it is under American Mink, Mustela vison, in the Recorder 3 list in both v6.14.4.212 J and v6.15.4.238 P but in Recorder 3 the taxonomic codes are 9720*003*020*060*00 and 9720*003*020*050*00 respectively so it isn’t in Recorder 3. If it was, it would have a code of, say, 9720*003*020*050*10.
Why is European Water Vole, now Arvicola amphibius, at the top level of hierarchy in the MAMMALIA list in v6.15.4.238 P and not under Arvicola? In v6.14.4.212 J, it is Arvicola terrestris and it is in the correct place in the hierarchy in MAMMALIA.
Also, why is Great Blue Heron, Ardea Herodias, at the top level of the hierarchy in BIRDS in v6.14.4.212 J and v6.15.4.238 P when the genus is present and in the right place?
I fear that these issues will add to the reporting problems in Recorder 6.
Another point: are all the new names being added to the List of additional names? If so, they will add to the problems in post 7 in http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?pid=5828#p5828.
