Re: Additional moth species required

A further query -

We already had Stegania cararia in the Species Dictionary, but without an authority. In the 'Nameserver' this species is listed as a synonym of Stegania trimaculata (Villers, 1789). Is this mapping correct, or should Stegania cararia be regarded as a valid species?

Re: Additional moth species required

Hi Charles,

1888a Stegania trimaculata (Villers, 1789) is to the best of my knowledge Dorset Cream Wave (per MapMate Taxa) so indeed this makes S. cararia a valid species.

I hope this helps.
