Re: Disturbing little bug?
I just noticed a rather unnerving bit of behaviour from Recorder 6 which made me glad I was paying attention. Not sure if it's a bug, or something put in by the developers for their own use, but if it's meant to be there it should come wiith a health warning.
I was looking at the Locations page and intending to search for a site with a name beginning with the word Dinton, but I forgot to press the Search button before typing.
After I pressed the D key, the first site with a name beginning with that letter was selected, as you would expect (not, as it happens, the site I was looking for). Then as I pressed the i key, the page went into edit mode. The n key subsequently moved the focus to the first site beginning with n, but the site beginning with D remained in edit mode.
Luckily I noticed the problem and didn't make any edits to the D site, however the potential was there, especially for a less experienced user, to cause damage to the data.
It would appear then that the i key acts as a hotkey to open edit mode (without the additional use of Alt, or Ctrl or anything else). Maybe I've missed this in the documentation, but I very rarely use hotkeys myself, so why would I? It is certainly a non-standard way of implementing a hotkey action and probably unwise.
I wonder how many more of these are lurking in wait for the unwary?
