Re: Can I filter by resolution?

I'm relatively new to Recorder and would appreciate a little help from a more seasoned user! When I make a report, is it possible to filter out all records where the resolution of the spatial reference is below a certain threshold? I want to exclude all records recorded to 10km square.

Cheers,

Rich

Re: Can I filter by resolution?

As far as Im aware you cant do that through the RW.

We report on everything then strip out any grid ref lengths we dont want.
With less than 10% of records recorded at 10km, thats not too erroneous.

I dont think it would be difficult to include a resolution filter in the report wizard though.
It would only be adding a script to test sample_spatial_ref length.

Thanks Matt. Would I have to use XML reporting to do that (i.e. filter on the length of the spatial reference)?

Re: Can I filter by resolution?

You don't need to use XML Reports as such - you could add spacial reference precision as an attribute to the Report Wizard and then post-process, as Matt suggests. Have a look in the REPORT_ATTRIBUTE and REPORT_FIELD tables and you should get an idea of how it works. I'm not sure if this is documented further, though.

In fact, I've just had a crack at it and successfully added a workable attribute. Have a look at these two screenshots and you should get the gist:

(If you can't read them, give me a shout and I'll send originals)

I'm not sure about adding filters. That's probably a bit more tricky.

Richard

I too would find being able to exclude records of a certain spatial scale useful when reporting via the wizard.  And thanks Charles for pointing out how to add spatial scale to the report output.  If anyone else knows how to make this information filterable through the report wizard I'd be interested to know.

Yes thanks Charles and Mark too. Haven't had time to look at Charles' solution yet, but I certainly will do in the near future I hope!

Re: Can I filter by resolution?

Charles,

On the technicalities of adding a row to these tables - I note that your primary keys are 'THU00002...'.
My tables here have the 'NBNSYS000...' keys.
Different, but not particularly relevant I suspect.

If I want to add a row to these tables, presumably I dont want to insert an NBNSYS key as it may clash with future updates, but rather one that adheres to my site code.
For these particular tables then, does it matter what key I create - 'SR00044500000001', as long as it doesnt conflict within the table itself?

Thanks
