Re: Newt Entry Required In Dictionary

Dear Charles,

Could you please add an entry for the Marbled Newt (Triturus marmoratus (Latreille, 1800)) to the Species Dictionary asap.

News came in yesterday, with photos, of a colony inhabiting a pond in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The pond has both Marbled Newts (Triturus marmoratus (Latreille, 1800)) and Alpine Newts (Lissotriton alpestris (Laurenti, 1768) and they have been there and breeding for at least the last 6 years. Work now needs to be done to ascertain whether they have spread to other ponds in the area.

Many thanks.
