Re: The problem with reporting abundance.

WAY too many columns.

Having only recently given up r3 where sex/stage/abundance concatenated into a single field, its a little frustrating reporting from R6 on unknown data.

I have no idea how the abundance information is stored for any particular taxon/sample and so I have to choose evry column under the sun to pull out the appropriate information - which then has to get filtered for a report.

Has anyone sorted out a concatenated string system for this? Or other solution.

Or am I missing something?

Yes, Mike added a couple of attributes to the Report Wizard to do this concatenation for us. Hopefully it'll be in the new version (Steve?). If not, give Mike a shout and he should be able to provide you with code and instructions.

Re: The problem with reporting abundance.

Hi Charles and Mike

I have not noticed anything in the new Report Wizard to have all the occurrences of 'abundance' in one column. Have I missed it? If so, please indicate where I should look.

All the best, Ian

Re: The problem with reporting abundance.

In 6.13 report wizard under Observations there is a tick box for;

Obs Abundances (LC)

That seems to do it.

Re: The problem with reporting abundance.

Hi Matt

That is brilliant! But what does 'LC' stand for? I am not surprised I missed it but it makes preparing the reports so much easier as it seems to pick up every type of 'Sex/stage' entry. I shall be using this every time from now on.

All the best, Ian

It stands for Littlefield Consultancy, which is the name of Mike Weideli's company.
