Topic: Multiple taxa downloads

I was hoping to get a single download from multiple Families - because that's my recording scheme (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/sm … e-families)
Thus I entered the following into NBN Atlas search:

Acartophthalmidae; Asteiidae; Aulacigastridae; Braulidae; Camillidae; Campichoetidae; Canacidae; Carnidae; Clusiidae; Diastatidae; Dryomyzidae; Milichiidae; Odiniidae; Opomyzidae; Periscelididae; Piophilidae

Sure it returns every one in a list (oddly including some worms and myriapods) But the only download option I have just returns the same list of Families
To get my download I have to visit the Occurrences link to each Family in that list and fill in the download forms separately for each one. Then wait for the email so that I can match the download filename to each one.
Then string all the downloaded files together to get my single file

What a labour-intensive exercise. Can it be streamlined in any way

P.S. This is the first step on my way to creating publication quality maps in QGIS using FSC tools. Next stop is iRecord, then iNaturalist then maybe GBIF after chucking in some project data.
So many silos

Re: Multiple taxa downloads

Hi Darwyn,

Sorry to take a while to reply.

I thought that the batch taxon search should do what you need (https://records.nbnatlas.org/search#tab_taxaUpload) but it only searches for records assigned to the taxon name (i.e to the family and not species within family).

This link searches for all occurrences in each of the families:

https://records.nbnatlas.org/occurrence … ophilidae)

It is possible to filter records by more than one family using the filters in the lefthand column when viewing a list of records - but you have to search for each family from the long list, which is not ideal. Something that we need to work on.

To add the family filter - if it's not already available - click on the Customise filters button at the top of the left hand column and select Family (under the Taxon heading).

Best wishes, Sophie
