Re: Guide to XML Reports

I have put a Help file for XML Reports on the forum at  http://forums.nbn.org.uk/uploads.php?file=R6XMLHelp.zip

The zip file contains a standard Windows .chm help file which should work on most machines. What I have attempted to do is to document what I know about XML Reports, based on my experiments and experiences.  There  is a set of pages which are designed as a basic introduction to using XML reports. This is supplemented by a great deal of unpublished information covering both the simple and more complex features. Also included are explanations of  the User Defined Functions available within Recorder 6.15, the R6 data structure,  and many examples of  the T-SQL and techniques needed to get to the data.  There is a comprehensive index and search facility.

The latest version includes some help for XMl Btach Updates.

Please read the Introduction before using the help system.

Re: Guide to XML Reports

Hi Mike
Thanks for making the Help file.
I have unzipped it and run it but the addresses for the links are "not valid". Do I need to link it to something else.
Thanks

Re: Guide to XML Reports

David

This is a problem with Microsoft security which will not allow .chm files from the  internet to be loaded for security reasons. Using a .zip file used to solve this problem, but it seems that this is no longer the case. I will see if I can find a solution.

You should  be able to unblock the file. Right click on the .chm file and choose properties. This should show that file is blocked. Click on UNBLOCK and apply the change. It should now work. If you still have problems let me know and I will email it to you.

Re: Guide to XML Reports

Thanks for the replies.
It was the main .chm file that was blocked by Microsoft security. Once unblocked it seems to work fine.
Thanks again

The http://www.lfield.co.uk/downloads/R6XMLHELP.ZIP file no longer seems to exist at that location.
