Topic: New Inocybe Fungus

Chris,

A new species of Inocybe described from the UK - Inocybe ionolepis. It's part of the Inocybe geophylla/lilacina group, described by Penny Cullington and Ellen Larssen with help from Kare Liimatainen from Kew, and published just in time for Christmas. The full description can be found here: https://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/ … cYFsxKwiig . The purple/lilac scales on the cap are apparently distinctive if you catch it in dry conditions, but these may be lost if it's wet or if it's fruiting late.

Cheers,
Steve
