Topic: Antispila petryi

Can we have Antispila petryi (NBN ID code: NHMSYS0000501270) reinstated as a distinct species? It has been split from Antispila treitschkiella (NHMSYS0000501272).

Records of mines on Cornus mas remain Antispila treitschkiella, whilst those recorded from Cornus sanguinea (which is most of them) will be Antispila petryi.

Re: Antispila petryi

Hi Dave - do you think the history of this species is such that we should consider the existing species an aggregate and then split off 2 new "sensu stricto" species? Or have the 2 names been used for the galls on different hosts?
