Topic: Anorthoa munda

Chris,

Anorthoa munda TVK = NHMSYS0021144798 in Agassiz list, previously Orthosia munda - Twin-spotted Quaker seems to be missing from the UKSI.
In Recorder, Twin-spotted Quaker appears synonymised with Anorthoa munda in the Agassiz list but Orthosia munda is not.

Re: Anorthoa munda

Hi Charlie

I have all those names in my copy of the UKSI - where are you seeing these differences? Is it just Recorder or the NBN?
I have the following:

Anorthoa munda ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) (Species, insect - moth) TERRESTRIAL / FRESHWATER
   =Orthosia munda (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775)
   =Orthosia munda (Denis & Schiff., 1775)
   =Twin-spotted Quaker
   =crynwr dau smotyn
   =crynwyr dau smotyn
   =Twin-Spotted Quaker

Re: Anorthoa munda

Chris,

Sorrry about the confusion. If I go to the NHM Search for a UK Species web page and search for Anorthoa munda it returns 0 records.

Re: Anorthoa munda

Hi Charlie

Sorry - that's our fault - the NHM website copy is years out of date and I can't for the life of me get the techs to update it - it's incredibly frustrating because it causes confusion like this. The most up to date published copies at at the NBN Atlas or on iRecord and the most up to date unpublished copy is on my server here in the office, which you can check using this link:

Re: Anorthoa munda

Thanks Chris.

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall seeing something about the NHM UKSI being out of step with Recorder.

Re: Anorthoa munda

Yeah - sorry about that. I have raised it again with our web-development team and I hope we can get it updated.
