Just upgraded the R6 dictionaries from 6.23 straight to 6.25 so i may have missed a change in 24..

Firstly the interface has changed and you can no longer search individuals lists. It's either Unrestricted, Preferred or a Rucksack. This is not really an issue as the search runs fast. However, when searching species names to match on import, the 'unrestricted' search no longer returns search term matches from the List of additional names.

Is this a deliberate change?

Shouldn't be. Will investgate.

Hi Mike,
This might be part of a larger issue as volunteers are now telling me R6 will no longer match some common species automatically on import (e.g. Columba palumbus). Before you ask i did rebuild the indexes!

Please can you let me know what the Option 'Restrict Taxon Searches To' is set to, so I can continue to investigate. At the moment I can't duplicate the problem of not being able to search on a list. Find still seems to offers the option to search on the current checklist.  I can duplicate 'Unrestricted' not working properly  and not finding anything in the List of Additional Names or possibly elsewhere.


One of the updates (perhaps 6.24) did clear down remembered matches, because there had been an error in populating this table and clearing it was the only options to get things right. This could be what your volunteers are seeing, but it will correct itself as matches are remembered again.

Cheers Mike the option is set to preferred checklists. Though i don't recall this causing an error in the past. I'll try with different settings.

I am holding back issuing 6.25 until I can find the problem. Searching on unrestricted is not finding all it should, even with  the option changed. I will let you know as soon as I have a fix.
