Topic: Tilia americana

We have received a record of Tilia americana from the local botanical society. Tilia americana appears on the NBN Gateway but not in any of our current Recorder 6 dictionaries. I think we are slightly out of date but not by much, has this species been included in the latest R6 updates?

Re: Tilia americana

It's not in dictionary 37, as far as I can tell. I think that's the most up to date one.

Re: Tilia americana

The species is already on the UKSI Ben, so if it isn't already on the Recorder Dictionary it should get there on the next update.

We can hope it comes through in the next one then!

Re: Tilia americana

Just had a closer look at this one - Tilia americana was added in 2003 so it should have been there for a long time already. It's part of the "BRC list of additional vascular plant names" checklist. I am issuing an update to the NBN Gateway in the coming days but I don't think it will change the situation with regard to this taxon :/

Maybe one for Mike to check, to see where it has gone in the Recorder taxonomy?

Re: Tilia americana

Checking again in the list Chris has given, it is in that BRC list. However if you run a search either on Unrestricted or even just on that list, it doesn't appear (although Tilia platyphyllos subsp cordifolia just below it in the list does). So apologies for being wrong last week, but if the search can't find it then it might as well not be there.
