Topic: New Marine Aliens & Invasives

Chris,

A number of new alien and/or invasives which need adding to the UKSI are described and identified here:   "TRANS-ATLANTIC RAFTING OF INSHORE MOLLUSCA ON MACRO-LITTER: AMERICAN MOLLUSCS ON BRITISH AND IRISH SHORES, NEW RECORDS" by Anna M Holmes, P Graham Oliver, Steve Trewhella, Rosemary Hill, & Declan TG Quigley.

The paper can be downloaded from:  https://attachment.fbsbx.com/file_downl … 83t3An2qSi.

Cheers and thanks.

Steve

Re: New Marine Aliens & Invasives

Thanks Steve. As these relate to both the marine and the non-natives people I will send it to the MBA and GBNNSIP to make sure they are aware of them. :)

Re: New Marine Aliens & Invasives

OK, I have added those and have marked them as non-natives in the UKSI but I have pending questions out with the NNSS about adding them to the official list of non-natives and to the MBA regarding the MSBIAS list :)

EXISTS Pinctada imbricata (Roding, 1798) was recorded once before in 1988 as Pinctada radiata but is here regarded as the western Atlantic subspecies.
