Topic: Merzomyia westermanni / Icterica westermanni (Diptera, Tephritidae)

I notice the NBN gateway has records (different sets) for both Merzomyia westermanni (Meigen, 1826) (commented = Trypeta westermanni Meigen, 1826) and Icterica westermanni (Meigen, 1826). From the discussion in Korneyev (1995) these are clearly the same species, and need to be combined (as Merzomyia, if Korneyev's work is accepted).

Thanks - I have sorted that out now and, as you say, Merzomyia is preferred so all records will now be mapped under Merzomyia westermanni  :)

Should this change have updated existing records displayed on the NBN gataway site? There are still two different maps available, NBNSYS0100004012 and NBNSYS0000012899.

Not immediately, no; it'll take a while to filter through.
