Topic: Veigaiidae

Would it be possible to have the Veigaiidae Oudemans, 1939 family of mites added to the taxon dictionary?

I have just noted it's not on R6 or the NBN but is listed as accepted by GBIF (http://www.gbif.org/species/6079) which interestingly also has seven records for GB! (http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?T … COUNTRY=GB)

Re: Veigaiidae

OK, I have added the family, genera & species mentioned on GBIF - if you have a list of other taxa that are found in the UK then I can add those too:

Veigaiidae Oudemans, 1939
tvk NHMSYS0021126955

Cyrthydrolaelaps Berlese, 1905
tvk NHMSYS0021126961
Gamasolaelaps Berlese, 1903
tvk NHMSYS0021126967
Veigaia Oudemans, 1905
tvk NHMSYS0021126973

Veigaia cerva (Kramer, 1876)
tvk NHMSYS0021126979
Veigaia nemorensis (C.L. Koch, 1839)
tvk NHMSYS0021126985

Thanks :)

Re: Veigaiidae

That's great thank you Chris.
There is the beginnings of a Acari recording scheme. I think there were having some problems with setting up an online recording system (Indicia based/iRecord) as there were quite a few names missing within the taxonomy (a lot of recording is done to family level). I'll post in the group and suggest that they consider putting a list together.
