Topic: Cotesia cajae

Chris,

Gavin Broad has just posted a photo on Facebook of Cotesia cajae (Bouché, 1834) pupae on a Garden Tiger moth (Arctia caja) from Hilbre Island off the Wirral.  His text reads as follows: "People don't tend to lament the loss of parasitoid wasps but it's probable we're losing some as their hosts decline. Garden Tigers have declined a lot, including on Hilbre Island, where we didn't see any for several years but they used to be common and parasitised by two braconids. Now they're abundant again but I've not found their parasitoids again until now. Very pleased to see Cotesia cajae back. The moths would probably be less pleased.".

Would it be possible to add this species to teh UKSI and thereby Recorder, Webservices Dictionary etc. ??  I have asked Gavin for the details of the record so I can enter it into RODIS for him but of course without the species being available in the Dictionary this is an impossibility !

Cheers and thanks.
