Topic: Powdery Mildews to be Added to UKSI

Chris,

Some of the Powdery Mildews mentioned in this FERA publication regarding species new to the UK found on Poinsettias could possibly do with adding to the UKSI.

Re: Powdery Mildews to be Added to UKSI

Hi Steve

It's a bit complicated by the fact that we're in the middle of testing Richard Shotbolt's latest synchronisation routines. But I have checked and just 2 taxa seem to be missing from the British list (and all the common names) so I will add those for now and let Liz know about the common names.

Best wishes,
Chris R.

Thanks Chris.  Sorry for putting up mycological requests when the UKSI is undergoing testing of the synchronisation routines but I just wanted to make sure that they were there for future checking once the synchronisation has been completed.

Thank you for your interest and also for your very practical solution at this time.

Cheers.

Re: Powdery Mildews to be Added to UKSI

To all readers - Just a short note to suggest that you may wish to encourage your contributors, recorders and naturalists in the your area to become involved with and contribute to the Powdery Mildew Project being run by Oli Ellingham at the University of Reading.   On receipt of specimens of mildewed leaves Oli will DNA sequence them and then provide identifications to the specimen provider which obviously can then be put into your relevant LRCs database.   A good way of obtaining records for a very under-recorded group I think.

Please see Oli's webpages with instructions for sending specimens at the following links:
