Topic: Clarification Species Designations
There are a number of species in the R6 dictionary that are listed as Nationally Scarce - on the list NBNSYS0000000047, "Nationally Scarce. Excludes Red Listed taxa". I've not checked all 2500 species, but some at least are not listed in the JNCC designation spreadsheet. As far as I can tell the list was added to R6 after the last JNCC spreadsheet was released (within a few days) so I presume that made it a current, active status. The same may well go for:
Nationally Rare. Excludes Red Listed taxa (NBNSYS0100000012)
Nationally Rare. Includes Red Listed taxa (NHMSYS0021010217)
Nationally Scarce. Includes Red Listed taxa (NHMSYS0021010216)
Can either Chris or Mike confirm that these are indeed current, active statuses rather than redundant out-dated ones?
