Topic: Psyllid Bug - Spanioneura fonscolombii ??

Chris,

I don't seem to be able to find an entry in the UKSI for the Psyllid bug Spanioneura fonscolombii which is found on Box.  Is this one missing ??

Ah, found it now but the spelling of the name (Spanioneura fonscolombei Förster, 1848  (Species, insect - true bug (Hemiptera))) is different to that on the British Bugs site (see below) - could you possibly check which is correct please ??

Did you manage to track down which was the correct spelling in this case Chris ??

Hi Steve

It was a tricky one because the existing name came from a request to add, rather than a checklist. I checked PESI and they agreed with fonscolombii and if BritishBugs agrees too then I am happy - so I changed the recommended name to fonscolombii Förster :)  I will always trust a local expert group if there is an active one.
