Topic: Water-soldier TVK

Hi,

Attempting to export some records to NBN, I am having problems with water-soldier. The TVK that exports from Recorder is NHMSYS0000345863 which appears not to be recognised on the gateway where the TVK is listed as NBNSYS0000002110. This key does however match to the Taxon Key of Stratiotes aloides in the VASCULAR PLANTS checklist.

Hi Gordon

The TVKs you are being given by Recorder6 are valid for that taxon concept but NHMSYS0000345863 is the ill-formed common name "Water-Soldier" and NBNSYS0000002110 is the recommended scientific name "Stratiotes aloides L.". My guess would be that Recorder6 shouldn't be giving you the ill-formed name but I'm not sure why it is doing that :)

Hi Purgle / Rob - just noticed this.

It looks to be the same problem as in the other thread actually - here. My post above is incorrect - I must have misread the NHMSYS0000345863 TVK because that TVK is in the deleted TVKs list. The only slight oddity is that the recommended scientific name (TVK NBNSYS0000002110) is actually ill-formed because it abbreviated the authority and doesn't have a publication date, which means it isn't code compliant. ;)

I think this might be a Recorder update issue but it needs Mike to have a look :)
