Topic: Temnothorax tuberum

Can we have a dictionary item re-instating Temnothorax tuberum Fabricius 1775?
I've been given a record of:
Temnothorax tuberum (F., 1775) nec albipennis sensu Orledge 1998
The record in question also carried the comment "conf. C. Collingwood 'known from Dungeness'", suggesting that the recorder was aware of the status of tuberum and albipennis.

I'm afraid I do not know if either of these records have been published.

Re: Temnothorax tuberum

Hi Dave

That's an interesting one but it seems completely legitimate as the recorder has specified that it absolutely isn't albipennis. Unusually I have created the species name AND the long-hand version that you quoted (as a synonym) so that it is absolutely clear about the meaning.

Temnothorax tuberum (Fabricius, 1775)

Temnothorax tuberum (Fabricius, 1775) nec albipennis sensu Orledge 1998

Best wishes,
