Topic: Rosa canina group Pubescentes

I'm trying to enter 'Rosa canina group Pubescentes' and find that it does not exist in the dictionaries. The problem being that according to the NBN it does and according to the NBN I have records of it. Not only that but I can find the TVK in my system.

An unrestricted search turns up nothing and I have rebuilt all the indexes. So where is it?
TVK = NBNSYS0500000062

Re: Rosa canina group Pubescentes

Hi Tony

Apologies for not seeing this one - I try my best but I'm as fallible as the next man.

The name does exist [tvk NBNSYS0500000062] but it has been marked 'redundant', which is a flag that is used to remove some taxa that have been deemed unnecessary for recording purposes (e.g. some sub-ranks, exotic species or aggregates that have come from non-standard sources) but it can easily be switched back on again. I don't have a record of why it was marked redundant but, given that you have records, I will switch on the 4 related "Rosa canina group" aggregates now.

Were you attempting to enter the records into iRecord or into Recorder?

Best wishes,
Chris R.

Re: Rosa canina group Pubescentes

Just a quick follow-up. In resetting the redundant flag I noticed that they were also marked in a way as to suggest that they were only found on a non-recommended and semi-private checklist. To my mind this shouldn't prevent those taxa from being used for recording purposes but I think I am a bit more open to using all of the taxa available to us - as long as they actually generate useful data.

If you spot any more that are necessary but not available for some reason then feel free to email me any time and I'll sort them out for you :)
