Topic: Missing fungus

Hello Chris.  I have a record supplied originally as Septoria populi which I was unable to find in R6 or NBNG.

A bit of research and advice from a highly authoritative source confirms that the current name should be  Mycosphaerella populi (Auersw.) J. Schröt. 1894, as in CoL.

There is another generic synonym Sphaerella.

The background as I was given it is: 'The correct name is Mycosphaerella populi.  The Septoria is the imperfect, anamorph stage of the Mycosphaerella.'

It seems to be completely absent from the current dictionary under any name, so would you be able to add it, please?

Re: Missing fungus

Thanks for doing the T. carbonella, Chris.  I take the message about using a new thread in future.

And the real point of this post is to bump THIS thread!
