Re: New BAP list

Does anyone have a rucksack containing all of the new BAP species? We're getting loads of request for reports on the new list but, seeing as Recorder still doesn't contain the new list, we have difficulty furnishing these requests. If anyone does have a rucksack prepared would you be willing to share?

Many thanks,
Charles

Re: New BAP list

By coincidence I have just been adding RTLIKs to the UKBAP species list to make it usable in R6 with the current taxon dictionary version. The UKBAP species list usefully includes taxon_version_keys but unfortunately not all of these are in the current dictionary so I have had to spend a fair bit of time matching up synonyms. Anyway it is now done for all species (bar the hebridean song thrush). I have spoken to John Tweddle and all of the species (and subspecies) and the designation flags will be in the next dictionary update.

I have converted the table to an Excel spreadsheet so if anyone is keen to have the data before the next dictionary update arrives I can email it to you (I've already sent it to Charles).

Re: New BAP list

Hi Bob,

This sounds really useful. Could you possibly post it into the File Uploads area on this site please?

Thanks

Re: New BAP list

I asked a pretty similar question at http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=177 some time ago.
Is the UKBAP list you obtained, Bob, one from the UKBAP site as the one on the JNCC site didn't have taxon keys when I last looked at it and it's JNCC who process the new BAPs.
Sarah Shaw provided a few answers in the above thread.

Re: New BAP list

The spreadsheet was obtained from the UKBAP site at http://www.ukbap.org.uk/NewPriorityList.aspx. The link is at the bottom of the page - 'Spreadsheet of the UK list of Priority Species and Habitats'.

I will add the modified spreadsheet to the file upload section.
