Topic: New Millepedes

Chris,
Can you add these two millepedes please:
Hylebainosoma nontronensis Mauriès & Kime, 1999
Ceratosphys (Amoena) confusa Ribaut, 1955

I'm not sure where these two additions will have been published, but I have a recorder that has re-determined all his Craspedosoma rawlinsii specimens in light of these new species.

Thanks,
Dave

Re: New Millepedes

Hi Dave

Those seem fine and they create a lot of other creations along the way too:

family Haaseidae
genus Hylebainosoma Verhoeff 1899
species Hylebainosoma nontronensis Mauriès & Kime, 1999

"Ceratosphys (Amoena) confusa Ribaut, 1955" does exist but is this the effect you were after:

family Opisthocheiridae
genus Ceratosphys Ribaut, 1920
species Ceratosphys amoena Ribaut, 1920
subspecies Ceratosphys amoena confusa Ribaut, 1955

I haven't created these yet because I want Paul Lee to check my taxonomy first :)

Thanks
Chris R.

Re: New Millepedes

Hi Dave

I have had a few emails from Paul today and he suggests adding the Hylebainosoma but waiting a little while for the Ceratosphys until the experts have worked out exactly what it is. If this process drags on we will add a place-holder to allow people to add records.

These have been added today:

family Haaseidae
tvk NHMSYS0021118536
genus Hylebainosoma Verhoeff 1899
tvk NHMSYS0021118542
species Hylebainosoma nontronensis Mauriès & Kime, 1999
tvk NHMSYS0021118548
