Topic: Mackeral/el

I am not sure what the problem here is, but according to the Gateway 'Mackerel' is the correct synonym for Scomber scombrus TVK NBNSYS0000177868.

'Mackeral' is clearly a typo, and is a 'badly formed' synonym.

In R6, I have a record of TVK NBNSYS0000177868, TLIK NBNSYS0000168650, which is showing as having the common name 'Mackeral'.

I have Dict Seq 0000002H and Version 6.22.2.274.

Re: Mackeral/el

That's odd because, as you say, the "Mackeral" name is ill-formed and only occurs on an MNCR checklist, which isn't recommended. One for Mike to look at, I think :)

Re: Mackeral/el

I seem to recall that Recorder doesn't take into account the fact that a common name is ill-formed - Mike will be able to confirm.
