Topic: Moth aggregates 1 - Grey and Dark Daggers

In the iRecord implementation of the UKSI, there is an aggregate for "Acronicta psi/tridens", but it has no English name attached to it. Consequently some of the moth recorders in my county are overlooking the existence of the aggregate and generating spurious records of one or other of the segregates.

Please can an English name for the agg. be added:
Grey/Dark Dagger

Thanks.

P.S. the UKSI web page for "Acronicta psi/tridens" doesn't work (I think the "/" in "psi/tridens" is confusing it):

The same issue arises if you try to find web pages for other UKSI aggregate names that include "/".

Re: Moth aggregates 1 - Grey and Dark Daggers

All done - thanks for pointing that one out Martin :)

The fault with the NHM "Species Dictionary" website sadly is one that I can't fix - the pages were written by a programmer who has left and I think that area will be frozen, pending the release of the new NHM website some time next year. In the meantime feel free to use my sandbox UKSI website here:

http://nbn-sd-dev.nhm.ac.uk/

It holds the most up to date copy of the UKSI but comes with several caveats:
- it isn't the published version so consider it as a "pre-release" copy. That's good because it has improvements that aren't yet in the NBNG but also bad because the data might be being worked on behind the scenes. If any major work is in progress I usually put up a warning message though so you should be safe :)
- it might be taken down and rebuilt at any time but it should be functional for most of the time
- it has lots of tempting editing buttons but please resist pressing them :D
