Topic: Thrypticus intercedens
Please could you add this species to the dictionary - A single male of the long-headed fly Thrypticus intercedens was taken using the vacuum in June 2010 in Redgrave Fen. This species is new to Britain based on this record and a specimen taken from another Norfolk site by Dr Martin Drake.

This species has only been recorded from Germany, Norway, Russia and Sweden according to Soós and Papp (1991) and the Fauna Europaea website (www.faunaeur.org).
