Topic: Coleoptera updates and corrections

Creating this e-mail for occasional change requests to the beetles species dictionary.

1. "Archarius" search in NBN Gateway returns, inter alia, "Archarius cerasorum" and "Archarius villosus". Both labels should correctly equate to "Curculio villosus (Fabricius, 1781)" with "Curculio cerasorum (Fabricius, 1775)" as a junior synonym.

2. Anthonomus britannus is not in the subgenus Anthonomus s. str. but the North American subgenus Sexarthrus Blatchley & Leng, teste Morris EMM 112: 24, 1977. Morris showed that this species was a non-established introduction in the 19th century, presumably from North America, and to my mind it may as well be deleted from the species dictionary. It's no longer included on the main British beetles checklist.

3. The beetle family "Cisidae" appears in the top-level taxon browser (see e.g. https://data.nbn.org.uk/Taxa/NBNSYS0000159704). This is an old name for what is now called CIIDAE Leach, 1819.

Re: Coleoptera updates and corrections

OK, these have been done now:

1. Two new names added:
Curculio villosus (Fabricius, 1781)
tvk NHMSYS0021005470

Curculio cerasorum (Fabricius, 1775)
tvk NHMSYS0021005482

2. Anthonomus britannus now marked as non-native

3. Cisidae synonymised under CIIDAE Leach, 1819

Many thanks for the updates :)
