Topic: Error with cockroach taxonomy

I think this problem only affects Recorder 6 (Gateway is certainly OK)

The order for Cockroaches is 'Dictyoptera', unfortunately there is a beetle genus of 'Dictyoptera' and all the cockroach family appear to be children of this genus in the Recorder 3.3. list in Recorder 6

Re: Error with cockroach taxonomy

Hi Craig

If the Gateway looks fine then, as you say, the underlying database should be fine. Perhaps something has been lost in the translations that have to happen to the data before they go into Recorder6? I might ask Mike Weideli to comment on this, as he is the expert on Recorder6 :)

Best wishes,

Re: Error with cockroach taxonomy

This is a problem in the NHM list.  Parents in Taxon_List_Item are wrong on the R3 list. The 3 cockroach families appear to be pointing to the Beetle genus instead of the cockroach Order (which doesn't exist in the R3 list).   Seems to be correct on the preferred list and the Organism table. This wouldn't show up anywhere on the gateway as they don't use Taxon_Lists. Not sure where this will be causing problems. It will affect Index_Taxon_Group table and might have some knock on effects.Ideally it needs the Order setting up (there is already a TV key) with  the three families pointed to it.

TLI Keys for the families are

NBNSYS0000068224

NBNSYS0000068218

NBNSYS0000068227

Re: Error with cockroach taxonomy

If I have understood correctly this has been fixed now. I have created a new TLIK for the correct order Dictyoptera in the Recorder3 checklist and pointed those 3 family lines at it  :)
