Hello Chris.  In case you don't see this buried in the rant I posted yesterday  in NBN 'Comments ...' this S American otter has a place in UKSI:

Output Group:    marine mammal

Hi Murdo,

Yes that's probably one that we don't need to offer to UK recorders - thanks for pointing it out! ;) 

Over the years we have tried to mark certain foreign species as 'non-native' or in the Organism flagged as 'redundant'. Unfortunately we have had all sorts of things from zoo animals to butterfly-house escapes added to the database for various reasons. I have been wondering whether we should start to mark a few of the names as redundant if no records have been posted against them OR if they are just no longer required.

That sounds like a sensible way to go, but maybe not a top priority.  I see there is a range of Coluber snakes as well.

Just checked this again (the otter and all Coluber spp.) and they are marked as 'redundant' and 'non-native' in the ORGANISM table so people can filter these out if they need to :)  If you spot any more then I'll check them out.
