Topic: Dark or Grey Dagger moth agg.

I have just been trying to add my record of either a Dark or Grey Dagger.  I understand that the two species cannot normally be separated in the adult form, and I was told to add it as an aggregate.
But there doesn't appear to be one (or is it me being stupid?).

Thanks
Nigel

It's down as Acronicta psi/tridens in the "list of additional names" (no common name).

Chris - do we need a common name adding for this agg? Or is this it going to be in new Lepidoptera checklist?

Noted.  Thanks for that, Charlie.
And there I was earlier today thinking I wouldn't need to refer to the list of additional names again...

As an addition, is there a glitch here, in that you can search in Recorder with the "List" normally appropriate for a search. And if you can't find it, change the parameter of the Search window to preferred species, or finally perhaps, "unrestricted".  But it does appear that it still won't find it unless you have the "list of additional names" selected in the "List" field at top left.  So THAT is where I went wrong before...

I know the feeling!

Unrestricted _should_ search everything - on my system if you type in Acronicta psi/tridens using unrestricted, it shows up even though the LEPIDOPTERA list is currently open.

Are you searching by "name" or "abbreviation" - if I select abbreviation, nothing is found for Acronicta psi/tridens.

Yes, you're right, my expanation doesn't hold water when I try it again.  It is one of those strange things that doesn't seem to be repeatable.  It's as if, because the list of additional names had never been opened before, it didn't look in there the first time.

If in doubt, please ignore me!
