I have noticed that there are a number of species listed in the JNCC designation table (version 2011-10-20) that do not appear to be in the Recorder Species dictionary. There may be a very good reason for this, but in case there isn't the species (and their TVKs) are:

I have checked 3 and they do appear to be on the JNCC Collation list, but looking in detail at  Allomelita pellucida it is appearing under Taxon_Version_Key NBNSYS0000013814. This points via NameServer  to TV key NHMSYS0020703711. It needs some more investigation to see exactly how it all fits together, but I think they are probably all  there. How were you trying to find them ?

I'm looking for the the Taxon_Version_Keys in both Taxon_List_Item table and the Nameserver. I had assumed that the TVKs given in the spreadsheet would correspond to TVKs in Recorder - but from what you say this is not the case!
I have NBNSYS0000013814, but not NHMSYS0020703711. I guess I must have missed a dictionary update at some point.

Can I simply re-run X & Y updates (I assume this is where the problem lies), or will I then need to re-run Z & 10 too?

Ok, found it, and have re-run the last four dictionary updates. The situation is the same. The species names may well be in the dictionary, but the Taxon_version_Keys provided by the JNCC spreadsheet are not. I guess it's one of life's mysteries that Ill just have to cope with!

I have uploaded the Dictionary check report for Dictionry upgrade 00000010

This will give you an indication as to whether you have some missing Dictionary entries. It is only an indication and some differnces are acceptable (see description when you run the report).

The  Dictionary synchroniser  isn't available yet for Dictionary 0000010, but when it is it should fix the issues.

Thanks Mike - I guess I've got a bigger problem than I thought then, since I've apparently got the following differences:
Taxon = 5176
Nameserver = 5455
Taxon_List_Item = 5685
Taxon_Version = 5463

I've emailed you some details, to see if you can spot what I'm missing.

I have updated the synchroniser tool and it is available for Dictionary 00000010 at www.Recorder6.Info/RecorderSyncToolV2.zip 

Unzip the contents of the zip file into a suitable folder (a new one would be best). There are detailed instruction included in the word or pdf document.
