Re: Horse Chestnut Leaf-miner Parasitoids Required
Charles,
The latest British Wildlife magazine (Vol 22, Number 5, June 2011) has an article entitled "The Horse-chestnut Leaf-miner and its parasitoids" by Michael Pocock, Darren Evans, Nigel Straw and Andrew Polaszek.
The article has a pictorial and textual key to parasitoids of the micro-moth Cameraria ohridella and gives information on both how to breed the parasitoids out and on how to identify them. A request is made within the article for people to send in identifications to the Conker Tree Science Project.
I have checked the Dictionary this morning and have found that over 90% of the parasitoids described and named are currently NOT on the Dictionary - this obviously needs resolving as there is a distinct chance that a decent number of such records will be sent in to both the project and to LRCs, where attempts will be made to add them to copies of Recorder and ultimately the Gateway.
I have not at this moment got the time to list all the species and to look up authors etc. (I am just on my way out) - BUT, I will do so as an addition to this thread later today.
Cheers.
