Re: Chalcid wasp - Tetrasticus...

Dear all,

we have failed to be able to locate the following species - Tetrastichus adalia (Walker, 1839)
it appears to be a cahlcid wasp with the following set of synonyms:
Aprostocetus adalia (Walker, 1839)
Baryscapus adalia (Walker, 1839)
Cirrospilus adalia Walker, 1839
Eutetrastichus adalia (Walker, 1839)
Tetrastichus adalia (Walker, 1839)
Tetrastichus crassinervis Thomson, 1878

the preffered name according to the NHM chalcid database pages is:
Baryscapus adalia Walker, 1839  [ Eulophidae : Tetrastichinae ]

On the NBN Gateway, the genus tetrastichus can be found,

Tetrastichus Haliday, 1844     TaxonVersionKey: NHMSYS0020732908
Selected species: Tetrastichus Haliday, 1844  [PREFERRED NAME]
Taxon reporting category: insect - hymenopteran

how can we add this species to recorder?

Re: Chalcid wasp - Tetrasticus...

All done - thanks. I chose the slightly easier option of just creating 2 new names:

Baryscapus adalia (Walker, 1839)     NHMSYS0020973445
Tetrastichus adalia (Walker, 1839)    NHMSYS0020973451 (syn of NHMSYS0020973445)

and ignoring the other synonyms for now - they can be added at a later date.
