Topic: Crocosmia pottsii x aurea - Missing from W&C Sch 9

Having applied Dictionary Upgrade - 00000056 I was in the process of updating the GIS layers we use in our Enquiry Service when I noticed that Crocosmia pottsii x aurea = C. x crocosmiiflora (aka Montbretia) had disappeared from our INNS layer. On closer examination I discovered that Montbretia was no longer flagged as appearing on Sch 9 at all!

The flag was clearly in place prior to the upgrade as the relevant records had appeared in our exports up until that point.

I went back to source and confirmed that I hadn't missed a change to Sch 9 and Montbretia was still included (it was -  https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/19 … 025-01-31) before checking the UKSI.

As far as I can see, although Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora, the taxon name used when Montbretia was originally included on Sch 9, is included in the relevant Checklist, the current accepted taxon name (Crocosmia pottsii x aurea = C. x crocosmiiflora), is not.

What's weird is that this link must have been in place until recently so I'm guessing it must have dropped off as part of the recent major update from the BSBI which was part of 00000056?

Having spotted it we can add these records back into our GIS layer but given its significance as an INNS, (and assuming I haven't missed a valid reason for it being removed), can the link be restored ASAP?

Hi Alistair - that's an odd one but I note that in the recent (huge!) BSBI update Tom has modified a lot of names to fall into the BSBI's formats and understandings. In this case I think the name order changed to be "Crocosmia aurea x pottsii = C. x crocosmiiflora (Lemoine) N.E.Br."
