Topic: Bruchidius bimaculatus

Can anyone tell me why Bruchidius bimaculatus (Olivier, 1795) is in the Recorder 6 dictionary? As far as I am aware this species is not on the British list. The species does not appear in Duff's 3rd edition checklist (or previous editions) and neither is it listed as a non-established introduction in the literature I have. It does occur in Europe (see Freude/Harde/Lohse 10:17) but to my knowledge there are no British records.

Re: Bruchidius bimaculatus

Apparently "Channel Islands only. Vagrant elsewhere in Britain" - I can confirm the former (well, it's on a list of Channel Island beetles I was given a long time ago). Can't find any reference to the latter.

Re: Bruchidius bimaculatus

Thanks Charlie - Channel Islands makes sense - don't think there are any British mainland (or associated islands) records
