Topic: Betula cordifolia

Chris,

I think I know your answer to this request but anyway here goes:

Last week in a public greenspace (a local park area) I came across an example of Mountain Paper Birch (Betula cordifolia Regel 1861) and having just attempted to enter the data have found that this species is not covered in the Recorder dictionary (or on the UKSI).  Could it possibly be added please ??

It seems a while ago it was thought to have been a variety of the Paper Birch (Betula payrifera) but has now been lifted to full species status.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Betula cordifolia

Hi Steve

I can't seem to find it on the recentish BSBI requested update (not even as a subspecies) so do you know if it is something they are keen to record?

Thanks
Chris R.
