We were trying to find Common and Palmate newt on this list and they don't appear to be there. We have Recorder 6 version 6.13.2.176.

The common newt is on there as the smooth newt. The palmate newt is also on there:

Have you rebuilt your indexes? Try the Tools menu > Database Tools > Rebuid Taxon ... Index (there are three indexes you need to rebuild). Failing that, have you tried doing a preferred dictionary search? In the Taxon Dictionary, do a search (hit Ctrl-F), then at the bottom of the window in the Restrict Searches To drop-down, select Preferred Checklists (you'll need to scroll the drop-down upwards).
