Topic: New Fungal Addition - Mycena riparia

Chris,

A post on Facebook this morning in the British Mycological Society group alerted me to the fact that a new Mycena has been found in the UK Mycena riparia Maas Geest - see the post below:

I don't normally get very exited about Mycena's, but this one must be my best find of the week in Hampshire, as it is a new British record. It is Mycena riparia, it was also found at the same site and confirmed by Thomas Læssøe (the co author of the new Mycena book in the 'Fungi of Northern Europe' series) It was growing on a dead Carex stem in a bed of Phragmites than had silted up enough to crawl about without getting too wet. So another one to look out for in your area!

Could this be added to the UKSI and the Recorder family please.

Cheers and thanks.

Re: New Fungal Addition - Mycena riparia

That's been added now - thanks :)  It seems to have missed the recent BMS checklist update so I'll pass it to Richard Shotbolt to make sure he adds it.
