Topic: Recorder 6 - Taxon Sort Order

Once upon a time this was reasonable - not perfect, but Ok in most cases. Instead of improving which one should hope for it is getting worse. I am not sure if this is down to R6 or the NHM, but either way surely it should  be possible in this day and age to have a sort order which doesn't have mosses coming out between group of flowering plants.

Re: Recorder 6 - Taxon Sort Order

Hi
We too have noticed this problem. We have the option of ‘Good taxonomic sort order’ in our data search report from R6 and since the last upgrade this is giving us a different order than we used to have. It was hierarchical from low to high and now seems more random for no apparent reason.

Re: Recorder 6 - Taxon Sort Order

Mike has done the necessary updates - there were only a few but they had caused ripples further down the line when he came to set the sorted order. I will do some tweaks at my end and then Mike should be ready to issue a taxonomy update at his next opportunity :)

Re: Recorder 6 - Taxon Sort Order

Just a quick update. Mike & I had a meeting on Monday and we're getting to the nub of the problem but it seems to be a throwback to the Marine checklist that came in ages ago, combined possibly with some minor issues in the recent BMS checklist. There will be an update shortly, anyway :)
