Topic: Tryblidium octosporum sp. nov.

Chris,

I am unsure about this one - in 1973 a new species of fungus was reported in the Transactions of the British Mycological Society (Vol 61, December 1973, Pages: 597-599).  It was a new species of Tryblidium from Ash (Fraxinus).  The newly described species being Tryblidium octosporum D Hawsworth & B. Coppins, sp. nov.

May be worth checking ??

Re: Tryblidium octosporum sp. nov.

Hi Steve

I think I'll skip this one, as Paul Kirk and the other fungus gurus at the BMS have spent months pouring over the British flora recently and published their updated checklist, which doesn't include this name. My guess is that it was quickly synonymised or there was a problem adding it to the UK flora for some other reason.

Best wishes,
Chris R.
