Topic: Protaetia (Potosia) metallica

Hi Chris, Protaetia (Potosia) metallica appears at the same level in the hierachy as Protaetia (Potosia) metallica on the NBN Gateway: https://data.nbn.org.uk/Taxa/NHMSYS0001719687

I think the species Protaetia (Potosia) metallica should be put under the subgenus Protaetia (Potosia) ?

[although I note on the UKSI Protaetia (Potosia) is marked as REDUNDANT ?]

Ahh, yes the minor ranks (like subgenus, subfamily) were not linked in by Charles when he created the ORGANISM table. This was mainly because it would have doubled the amount of work and these subranks are usually the most contentious and hardest to actually get agreement on. I plan to link them in eventually but I'd like a more powerful administration tool first because, although I can automatically link in most using the checklists, there will be thousands of taxa who do not occur on a major checklist and these will have to all be tidied up manually.

Thanks Chris - I did wonder if there was something like that going on, but previous experience has suggested I leave the details to the experts ;-)
