Topic: New UK fungi species

Hi Chris,

I’d like to request that a new fungi species for the UK be added to recorder. It’s Mycena juniperina, which is listed on Index Fungorum (as Mycena juniperina Aronsen, Persoonia 16(2): 257 (1996)).

It has recently been found in Wiltshire, with samples sent off to and confirmed by Kew Gardens. The only publication of this I can track down for it, apart from the record submitted to WSBRC, is a newsletter available at indexfungorum.org.

Apologies for not providing direct links to webpages, having just registered it appears I can’t add these into posts yet. Hope that’s all the required information, but just let me know if you require any more detail.

Many thanks,
Kathryn Hand

Hi Kathryn

That's added now but I will ask John van Breda to poke it into iRecord so it can be used quickly :)
