Topic: inconsistency in Agassiz list against NBN Gateway

according to the NBN Gateway NHMSYS0021142842 (Coleophora albidella) redirects to NHMSYS0021142837 (C.mayrella) although it is not listed in the synonyms, however both are good species according to Agassiz

others along the same lines!

NBN Gateway gives Pammene splendidulana as a synonym of Pammene ignorata, whilst Aggassiz give them as separate species

NBN Gateway give Leptidea juvernica as a synonym of L.sinapis, but it is a good species on Aggassiz list

Eudryas staejohannis on NBN Gateway is given as Noctuidae, but on UKMoths this is in Erebidae Agassiz number 72.0501
same for Pandesma robusta 72.0871

Some species on the Agassiz list do not have the preferred TVK on the list, e.g.
Euxoa obelisca obelisca TVK on list - NHMSYS0021144885
             preferred TVK on Gateway - NHMSYS0000502657

Some species on the Agassiz list have been added to the Gateway, but do not follow Gateway "Style", but are still considered the preferred taxon, e.g.
NHMSYS0021144840 Conisania andalusica andalusica (NBN style would be Conisania andalusica subsp. andalusica)

hopefully a final batch!

Some species/subspecies are in twice, both preferred! e.g.

Essex Emerald
Thetidia smaragdaria smaragdaria NHMSYS0021144318 and
Thetidia smaragdaria subsp. smaragdaria NHMSYS0000504498

I think there is some serious and urgent work need to sort out the new Agassiz list

Definitely the last one for the moment!

A number of subspecies in the Agassiz list have no species parent on the NBN Gateway, now I know this is how the Agassiz list works, but it isn't how taxonomy works, these parent species entries need to be there for 'species' lists to work!

Hi Craig - thanks for finding those - I'll try to know them down one by one :D 

The first one (Coleophora albidella linkign to C.mayrella) - this has been fixed already on my copy here
