Topic: Cryphalus asperatus (Coleoptera)

Chris, can you check the synonyms of Cryphalus asperatus (https://data.nbn.org.uk/Taxa/NHMSYS0020151850) and Trypophloeus binodulus (https://data.nbn.org.uk/Taxa/NHMSYS0020153681) against Duffs checklist. I think it's a bit tangled up; Cryphalus binodulus should be against T. binodulus? And Trypophloeus asperatus (Gyllenhal, 1813) shouldn't exist?

(Or I have may have just got myself tangled up.)

Re: Cryphalus asperatus (Coleoptera)

Hi Charlie

I think you're right on the C. binodulus because it does stand out as being wrong - so I have moved it. But I think asperatus can stay, as it is "sensu auctt. partim non (Gyllenhal, 1813)", which suggests that this is an old junior synonym.

Cheers
