Topic: Common porpoise record duplication in XML report

Our reporting XML seems to be duplicating records of Phocoena phocoena. One row is correctly reported as Common Porpoise, Phocoena phocoena, however the second has the scientific name as Habour porpoise.

Searching for Habour porpoise in the dictionary brings up two entries, but so does searching for Common porpoise. The name Habour porpoise doesn't appear to present in any of the other dictionaries.

I would hazard a guess it's something to do with one of the joins performed - and a duplicate TLI?

Often down to using the preferred common name and not the recommended common name.

Re: Common porpoise record duplication in XML report

Thanks Mike- should a TAXON_LIST_ITEM_KEY occur more than once in the INDEX_TAXON_NAME table (TLI NHMSYS0000332667 occurs twice, along with a few others)?

I can see references to see this (double TLIs in the ITN) elsewhere in the forum, but not sure if it's 'correct' ?

Scratch all that - it's user added common names that's causing the duplication

That often catches me out.  A taxon List Item key can occur twice, but only one should have System_Supplied_Data set to true.
