Topic: White/ Buff-tailed Bumblebee workers

Hi Chris
There is a common name against the Bombus lucorum/terrestris aggregate called White/ Buff-tailed Bumblebee workers. Any chance you could remove the word "workers" from this name please as I don't think the caste should be part of a name.
Thanks
John

Re: White/ Buff-tailed Bumblebee workers

There are a few issues in the dictionary relating to inconsistent use of Bumblebee vs Bumble Bee. For example, we have "Buff-tailed Bumblebee" as a well formed name, with "Buff-Tailed Bumble Bee" as an unverified or irregular name. But in some cases, the Bumble Bee version of the name is the well formed one, e.g. Large Garden Bumble Bee.
Can these inconsistencies be ironed out please?
Thanks
John

Re: White/ Buff-tailed Bumblebee workers

Hi John

I have done a few of these in the last few months (changing the "Bumble Bee" names to Ill-formed etc.) but if you spot any more then do let me know after you have seen the new database. The "White/ Buff-tailed Bumblebee workers" seems very justified - unless anyone objects. It is only on the List of Additional Names so it is free to be changed :)

Best wishes,
Chris R.

PS: I have just done a quick scan of the data and it looks like all "Bumble Bee" names are ill-formed now :)
